Herbie (formerly Herbert) is a *super* sweet boy who loves his people and his bones. He may not have been raised a city dog, but he’s a favorite among his Baltimore neighbors. He’s always happy to get a scratch on the head, but won’t bark as folks walk by the house. He’s polite with other dogs in the dog park, and mostly happy to just sniff around. He’s learning the ropes in Charm City and will give chase to alley rats (yes!) and alley cats (no!), but leaves the park’s squirrels alone. He’s housebroken and working on his commands. “Sit” is his latest task. He’s happy wherever he is, but he would be happiest in his forever home!

Described by her foster as "the sweetest pup", Mango is learning to sit, walks well on a leash and sleeps great in her crate. She would love a yard with another dog but is flexible. She is a loyal companion and if you want a running partner, she would be a perfect match! She gets along well with kids but has not been cat tested. She is shy at first but after a couple days she is a complete charmer."
Her foster says: “Apple is a sweet, gentle, submissive, cuddly girl who had a rough start in life. She's a 2-year old, 40 lb BEAUTIFUL coon hound mix from rural Virginia.
She was terrified upon arrival and would not come out of her crate for days, even though the door was open (she was adopted but returned after a day 😢)
Now she no longer feels the need to be in her crate and wanders around the house inquisitively. Apple has learned to trust and now loves human touch and will respond to 'lovies' with kisses and tail wags. She loves toys, especially gathering all the toys in the toy box to whatever spot she's chosen for the day 🙂 Apple will sleep anywhere, but loves to cuddle and share the bed. She's a bit of a bed hog!
She would be happy to lay and cuddle next to you on the couch all day. Around dinner time she 'wakes up' and wants to play. She most loves going outside during the late evening- maybe because she is scared of all the street noises near the home during the day.
She would do well in a home that is not near a busy street, as she will sometimes pull hard her on leash to get home whenever she hears a noise like a truck, ambulance, motorcycle, loud car. She's getting more desensitized to noises and pulling less, but is not totally there yet. She has gone several on hikes in the woods and *loves* it. She has learned 'come' and 'sit', although not 100% consistent. She loves dogs her size and wants to visit with every passing dog.
Apple is shy at first and needs a soft and gentle approach. She still gets nervous and scares easily. She is really happy and thankful for kindness and love, and will give 110% of love back.”
