Meet Chris! He is absolutely stunning... he's @2 years old and 35 lbs.

He is currently being fostered with kids and his foster Mom says: "Chris is a gentle, easygoing dog. He enjoys his walks, following scents, exploring, and of course, having his ears and belly scratched. He is crate-trained, does not bark, howl, nor drool. Chris enjoys attention from and is very peaceful around children and other dogs. He has a very healthy appetite and likes his dog food (wet or dry), dog treats, and even green peas. He likes to sleep whether on the floor or in his cage. When he wants to go outside, he stands and looks at his human or stands near the door. Once he is outside, he likes to jog-walk-run, zig-zagging in front of his human. His overall energy level increases when being outside in nature. Regarding commands, Chris only understands, “no” and “off;” he could benefit from further training. Chris shows his affection by wagging his tail, giving nose-kisses on his humans and encouraging them to scratch him by rolling on his back. Overall, he is a warm companion with a sweet temperament."

Meet Heidi! She is a 4-year old, 40 lbs tri-color hound. Her foster says: "Heidi is settling in nicely and is a quiet,
polite girl who likes her kibble, crunching ice cubes on hot summer afternoons and this new discovery called a Kong. But please, skip that sticky peanut stuff as it just gets in the way 🙂

She walks nicely on the leash until a rabbit or squirrel catches her attention, but does fall back into pace with some encouragement. She hasn’t paid too much attention to other dogs on our walks but did say hello to one this evening with a good sniff and wag of the tail, and has ignored the neighbors dog through the fence. She has been polite to people walking by and has not been a barker.

The resident cat has said hi a few times and she has been her usual polite self and said hello back. She doesn’t recognize her name or ‘come’ yet, but does listen for the squeaky ball and comes running.

She was very accommodating when bathed, standing solemnly as she was soaped up. Happy probably to cool down and wash away the transport day. She has a few scrapes which she isn’t bothered by and seem to be healing nicely. Overall she is a lovely dog and is an absolute authority on afternoon naps on a hot day."

Meet Journey! She is @one, about 35 lbs. Her foster says: "Journey is a great dog! She still has some puppy in her with the added benefit of being housetrained and mostly crate trained. She likes adults and kids and loves to have her belly rubbed, if you stop she will put her paw on you and look at you with the most adorable eyes "asking" for more. She loves to chase squirrels and rabbits and does pull on the leash but with some training will make a great addition to your family. She is looking for a family to snuggle with on the couch and give her lots of squeaky toys (she loves her squeaky toys!)"
